Jamie Weeder, a second-year Master of Social Work student at Northern Michigan University, integrates a passion for healing, creativity, and justice into her practice. Jamie’s work centers on supporting individuals and communities as they navigate grief, trauma, and life transitions. She has experience working with youth and adults in both clinical and group settings, including those facing systemic barriers and experiences of loss.
Her background includes community organizing, theatre, and arts-based facilitation, which she weaves into her therapeutic approach to help clients explore their emotions in creative and restorative ways. Jamie is committed to fostering spaces where people can process difficult feelings through narrative, ritual, and embodied expression, encouraging both reflection and transformation.
She utilizes strength-based practice, relational presence, and cognitive-behavioral strategies to assist clients in identifying coping skills, reframing painful experiences, and building resilience. Jamie is especially interested in how grief literacy and creative engagement can deepen self-understanding, nurture connection, and expand possibilities for healing.
